The Alta Via 1 links the most beautiful corners of the Dolomites with a chain of family-run mountain huts. The walking is steady rather than brutal: long traverses beneath vertical walls, a few airy sections with fixed cables, and evenings on a terrace watching the rock turn pink.
It is the best introduction to multi-day trekking we know. You carry only a daypack and the huts do the rest.
